Grammar: 是 and 吗
- 是 sentence: [A] 是 [B] — “A is B.”
- 我是学生。Wǒ shì xuésheng. (I am a student.)
- 他不是老师。Tā bú shì lǎoshī. (He is not a teacher.)
- 吗 question: Statement + 吗 → question. Word order DOESN’T CHANGE!
- 你是学生吗？Nǐ shì xuésheng ma? (Are you a student?)
- 呢: “And what about…?”
- 我很好，你呢？Wǒ hěn hǎo, nǐ ne?
✏️ Exercises
- 是 Pattern: Write 10 sentences — 5 positive, 5 negative. Say them aloud.
- 吗 Questions: Write 5 statement→question pairs. Say them.
- Pronoun Drill: 我, 你, 您, 他, 她, 我们, 你们, 他们. Say with tones, point.
