The 6 Simple Finals

| e | ”uh” (tongue back) | ⚠️ NOT English ‘ee’! Say “uh”, move tongue back, lips UNROUNDED |

| ü | ”ee” + round lips | ⚠️ Say “ee”, keep tongue position, round lips like “oo” |
✏️ Exercises
- The ‘e’ Problem (5 min): Say “uh” → move tongue BACK → keep lips UNROUNDED. Video help. Practice: ē é ě è. 20×.
- The ‘ü’ Problem (10 min): Say “eeee” → hold tongue → round lips → sound becomes ü! Practice: nǚ, lǜ, jū, qū, xū. ⚠️ After j/q/x, ü is written as ‘u’ but pronounced ü.
- All Finals × 4 Tones (15 min): Use Pleco. ā á ǎ à, ō ó ǒ ò, ē é ě è, ī í ǐ ì, ū ú ǔ ù, ǖ ǘ ǚ ǜ. Imitate 5× each.
